Statewide campaign reminds motorists to wear their seatbelts use it all times.

Ohio's law enforcement is reminding you to wear your seatbelt. until June 2. the state is engaged in the 'Click it or ticket’ campaign.

Always told to wear a seatbelt. In Ohio, 82% of adults say they do, but in Mahoning County, that number is even lower.

In Mahoning County, it's about 72 percent. so, there is work can do, from an implementation perspective. That's why Ohio has their Click It or Ticket educate. 

Capt. Jason Simon says It's no secret that seatbelts do save lives. so, they encourage everyone to use it, all the time. This should be the first thing you do when you get in a vehicle.

Many times, they've encountered people violators not wearing seatbelts, not seeing what law enforcement.

The officer must have observed some kind of violation, such as speeding, driving out of your lane or something of that nature and then noticed you’re not wearing your seatbelt.

it can mean the difference between life and death.

there's nothing wrong with doing something as simple as this it's also for your safety.

Now, not wearing a seatbelt is a secondary violation.

Ohio State Representative Jon Cross announced a bill to change that. Making it a primary violation
